Our School

INTRODUCTION

Education is very important in the life of everyone. In some countries, children automatically receive education when they reach a certain age. Unfortunately, many do not value this great privilege. While this is so in some parts of the world, there are countless children, youths and even adults in Nigeria, who wish to get education, but it is not possible for them because their parents cannot afford to pay the school fees which makes it impossible for many parents to send their children to school.

VISION / THE JOURNEY SO FAR

In 2005, Home For The Needy established its own school (Nursery, Primary and Secondary), in order to give children - especially orphans, the destitute, children from poor families, jungles and slums, where education is needed - the opportunity to get good education and bring them up in good manners.
The school started with only 47 students but was soon known for its high-quality standard and its qualified teachers which made the number of students to increase rapidly. Today, there are thousands of students.

STUDENTS FROM THE NORTHEAST

With the emergency in north-eastern Nigeria, thousands of children, widows and families fled to us since 2012, suffering severe trauma from their horrific experiences.
Through continuous counselling they were able to gradually resume their education with us.

LITERACY

Children and adults who have not had the opportunity yet to attend school learn how to read and write in pioneer classes which helps them to catch up in their education.

NEEDS

The buildings we are currently using for the school are mostly uncompleted and have become too small.
We need financial, material and practical help to finish all the school buildings and to build new ones so that these children can have a place for their education.
In addition, there is a great need for desks, chairs, teaching equipment, textbooks, notebooks, pens and other school materials.

SUBSEQUENT UNIVERSITY / PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

After their secondary school education, we enable the students to study at university or to receive professional training so that they can stand on their own two feet in life.
For their annual tuition fees, accommodation, teaching materials, etc., the university students need support, such as scholarships, sponsorships, one-time or regular donations.
